The Fiber Optics Difference

Providing tank owners for the first time with a safe, inexpensive look inside fuel tanks, the OpticSweep™ system is a patent-pending approach to inspect and clean fuel in underground and aboveground storage tanks.

It utilizes:

  • Fiber-optic technology to provide an unprecedented look at in-tank fuel quality and bottom contamination
  • An integrated vacuum system that simultaneously can extract fuel impurities upon sighting
  • Our uniquely designed filtration process removing impurities to maximize the amount of fuel that can be returned to the tank

How OpticSweep benefits tank owners

  • Efficient tank-bottom inspection without shutting down the fuel-storage system or loss of revenue
  • Integrated scope and vacuum probe visually inspects and cleans fuel at the same time
  • Powerful vacuum removes water, sludge, microbial bacteria and sediment
  • Fiber-optic scope probes the entire tank bottom -- including low spots where water and bacteria accumulate
  • Visual confirmation shows that the tank bottom is free of water, sludge, sediment and damaging bacteria
  • Fuel restoration yields substantial savings on contaminated fuel disposal
  • Process prevents phase separation by keeping water out of all locations in tanks

Getting the water out and keeping it out is the key to clean, uncontaminated fuel and rust-free UST's and AST's

Installing a hose or pipe straight down the fill pipe is a typical method of water removal.

The result of the typical method, without a visual confirmation, is that much of the water, bacteria and sludge are left in low lying spots in the tank and in critical areas such as the ATG probes.

The keys to a clean UST or AST are:
  • being able to reach the entire tank bottom
  • having a visual confirmation that the tank is free of water and contamination
  • having a regularly scheduled maintenance program.
